Music Street @ TGIOF 2011 is indie love
We love our artists. We couldn't exist without them.
Bangalore’s eclectic music scene goes back to early in the city's history and encompasses
a wide variety of music including country, folk, jazz, blues and rock.
The classic problem facing Bangalore musicians today is the being isolated from the rest of the world.
This year the The Great Indian October Fest in association with the Kyra Theatre brings to you
The Sunset Strip :
a special tribute to all the wonderful musicians of the city.
The Sunset Strip is the Music Street at the October Fest specially created to give our bands and musicians a place
( 10 * 10 stall ) of their own to demonstrate their art, play their music and display their merchandise and where they
can directly interact with fans, people of the industry, club owners, visitors to the October Fest and with other artists
that would get a chance to hear and buy their music. Thirty lucky bands will get the opportunity this year to be part of the
Sunset Strip initiative.
Brainchild of Dipali Sikand ( from the Kyra theatre ) Common Colors ,the organisers of the
The Great Indian October Fest
( since 2005 ) immediately loved the idea and have undertaken to make sure that this becomes the festival’s unique CSR initiative
and will give equal representation to new and upcoming bands as to those that have made a mark for themselves but can use the extra
opportunity to create more fans and sales.
