Magnolia
is easy to miss from the outside and very difficult to forget
once you've been inside. This restaurant is unique with a strong
feminine feel about the ambience which is done up in pink. Right
from the pink tablecloth to the waiters dressed in pink and black,
the restaurant is a treat for the eyes. Beautifully painted fans
and paintings brought all the way from Hong Kong adorn the walls.
There's
also a neat terrace garden upstairs, which is open only on weekends,
lit up with candles for the romantically inclined. This Chinese
and Thai restaurant with a seating capacity of 130 is one of its
kind in Bangalore .It was opened in September 2002.
The
restaurant doesn't claim to serve authentic Chinese or Thai cuisine
but it comes very close. A few must haves from the menu are Fish
Meatball Soup with Glass Noodles, the Dim Sum, the Tai Chi Chicken
(chicken served in garlic and aniseed flavoured sauce) or Chicken
Meat Ball with Black Mushroom (minced chicken flavoured with herbs
and served with black mushroom-in white sauce). There's also vegetarian
Quick Fried Chinese Greens (stir fried fresh greens flavoured
with garlic and chilly).
And
for the accompanying drink there's Kingfisher beer of course.
Complete the meal with either the Sizzling Dessert - a brownie
served on a sizzling plate with ice cream and topped with chocolate
sauce or Toffee Litchis (batter fried litchis glazed in honey
syrup).
Suffice
to say that whatever you may pick from the menu, you won't be
disappointed.
There's also vegetarian Quick Fried Chinese Greens
